The Atlantic Philanthropies awarded Chicago LISC an extraordinary $17,825,000 four-year grant to support the Integrated Services in Schools Initiative. LISC has received two installments totaling $5,012,358 to begin implementation of the program, which aims to provide quality health, learning and family connection services to vulnerable children and youth in Chicago.

The Walton Family Foundation renewed its commitment to LISC's Educational Facilities Financing Center with a three-year $2,500,000 grant.

The Kellogg Foundation committed $2,000,000 to Detroit LISC's Sustainable Communities effort. Detroit is one of eleven programs that were selected as demonstration sites for LISC's national Sustainable Communities Initiative.

Hall Family Foundation

The Hall Family Foundation made a three-year $1,800,000 commitment to Greater Kansas City LISC to support Phase II of NeighborhoodsNOW, a comprehensive revitalization program that takes a holistic approach to transforming promising urban core neighborhoods into more stable communities.

McGregor Fund

The McGregor Fund awarded Detroit LISC a three-year $1,500,000 grant to support work related to its Sustainable Communities effort.

The Wachovia Foundation

The Wachovia Foundation renewed its significant commitment to LISC with a $1,000,000 grant. In addition to this funding, Wachovia provided LISC's Philadelphia program with $25,000 in general operating support.

American International Group, Inc.

American International Group, Inc. (AIG) committed $1,000,000 over two years to LISC's Family Income and Wealth Building program. This funding will support the implementation of Centers for Working Families in Milwaukee, Detroit, Indianapolis and the Bay Area. The Centers will help low-income families increase their incomes and build assets with employment services, financial planning and public benefits assistance. AIG is a new donor to LISC.

Hudson-Webber Foundation

The Hudson-Webber Foundation awarded Detroit LISC a $1,000,000 two-year grant to support its Sustainable Communities effort.

Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity

Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity made a $1,000,000 three-year commitment to the Harambee Great Neighborhoods Initiative, for which Milwaukee LISC is serving as fiscal agent. This funding, which includes $500,000 in program grants and $500,000 in program-related investments, will help to improve educational opportunities, housing and other community needs in Harambee. Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity is a financial, volunteer and advocacy alliance formed between Thrivent Financial for Lutherans and Habitat for Humanity International.

The Annie E. Casey Foundation

The Annie E. Casey Foundation made a $660,000 commitment to LISC's Family Income and Wealth Building program. In addition to this funding, the foundation awarded grants to the Chicago, Hartford, Indianapolis and Washington, D.C. programs.

Citi Foundation

The Citi Foundation made a $500,000 commitment to LISC's foreclosure mitigation efforts. Additional grants were awarded to the Bay Area, Chicago, Connecticut, Houston, Jacksonville, Kansas City, New York City and South Florida programs, as well as LISC's Field Resources and Learning Unit.

The John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation

The MacArthur Foundation provided Chicago LISC with several grants, including funding to support foreclosure prevention efforts in New Communities Program neighborhoods. The New Communities Program is a long-term initiative to support comprehensive community development in 16 Chicago neighborhoods.

Washington Mutual

Washington Mutual awarded LISC a one-year grant of $877,500. In addition to general operating support, this funding will support the community development activities of 11 local LISC programs, as well as Rural LISC.

The Home Depot Foundation

The Home Depot Foundation made a $700,000 commitment to Hurricane Ike recovery and rebuilding efforts in the Texas Gulf Coast. In addition to this funding, The Home Depot provided a $37,500 sponsorship for the 2008 Detroit Community Development Awards.

Deutsche Bank

Deutsche Bank renewed its significant commitment to LISC with a $550,000 three-year grant. This funding will support LISC's general operations, as well as the activities of LISC's New York City program.

Ford Foundation

The Ford Foundation awarded Detroit LISC a $350,000 grant to improve vacant properties management systems, advocate for regional public transit infrastructure, and assist in planning for future transit investments. In addition to this funding, the foundation provided LISC's Houston program with a $155,000 to support its Sustainable Communities effort.

Living Cities

Living Cities committed $500,000 to Twin Cities LISC's foreclosure mitigation efforts. This funding will support the acquisition, rehabilitation and reselling of foreclosed homes, as well as the development of new financing products to help a wider range of borrowers.

The Prudential Foundation

The Prudential Foundation awarded LISC a two-year $500,000 grant to support LISC's national public policy activities as well as LISC's work around the subprime foreclosure crisis.

LISC's Jacksonville program received a $500,000 contribution from The Community Foundation's J. Wayne and Delores Barr Weaver Advised Fund.
